The musical highlight of the evening was an impromptu performance by the TVs [Tobin Vukelic quartet].  Jason sang lead, Fran - tenor, Brian - bass, and Yours Truly - baritone.  These three learned The I.R.S. Song, a parody sung to the tune, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" in less than 20 minutes.  It took the Good Fortune quartet 3 months to accomplish the same.

While in Iraq, Reed frequently emailed us about his plan to spend some of his hard-earned pay [an understatement] on a truck.  He found what he wanted and promptly installed a high end stereo system that even I can hear clearly from a block away.

The four-wheel drive truck came in handy when, after a snow-less Christmas, a foot of snow was dumped on Bismarck residents.

We often joke that we can clear a bar in a very short time with our singing.  On the 29th, we set a new record.  At the very end of our 30-minute performance, a state employee hustled up toward our microphone making a "cut" motion with his finger moving horizontally across his throat.  We stopped in mid-chord.  He then announced that a fire alarm had gone off in the capitol and everyone had to leave the building.  So we now lay claim to the feat of clearing the entire state capitol building.
