Late September, time for the annual Vukelic Cup. This was the sixth year for the event which coincides, roughly, with the Ryder Cup or President's Cup, depending on the year. Before a blow-by-blow recitation of the day's events, here is a view of some of the golfers in their finest form.
Byron Paul teeing off on the first hole at Tom O'Leary Golf Course in Bismarck, ND
Dale Hoerauf doing his traditional John Daly imitation on #5. In the background is Mark Armstrong's house and the final repository for one of Scott Halvorson's drives on #2 [it was hit just a little left of Al Sharpton].
Looking back to the tee on #3 from behind the green. It was a bit breezy.
Mike Heilman calling out to his errant ball, "Yoo Hoo! Come back [to the fairway]."
"One if by land; two if by sea." Dale scopes the horizon. In the background is the green of #11 where Nick Kjos won top honors for being closest to the pin. Actually, he was the only golfer who made the green.
Now, on to the matches.
