Reed and Mollie rolled into Bismarck a few days before the reception planned for August 17 at Apple Creek Country Club east of Bismarck. To prevent Mollie from being overwhelmed at the reception with dozens of people she'd never met, we figured how to break her in a bit more gradually. The night before the big doings, we had several members of my side of the family over to help with decorations.
While the men sat in the kitchen, talking smart, the women gathered in the dining room and manufactured those big white puff balls you see in the pic.
Mom, Mollie, Viv, and Franci look at something on Reed's laptop. Maybe it was that Roy Damn Mercer.

The next morning, we went out to Apple Creek to begin setting up for the affair. Jack Kline holds the ladder for Reed.
Mere, Anna, and Mollie prepare the puff balls.
Jack rehearses a John Prine song. He adapted the lyrics to describe the time Reed and Mollie met. His performance that night was a huge hit even though he gave it only a 5% chance of success.
Reed and Anna catching up
Back home, J.D. and Anna feed Krista. She came to the reception, too, though she was so quiet you'd never have known she was there.
Janet, Barb, Linda and Pam visit.
J.D. was master of ceremonies and seemed born to the role. He presented a
slide show to familiarize Mollie with all things Norskie.
Needless to say, his presentation was well-received.
As another "outsider" who married into the family, J.D. had useful tips for Mollie on how to survive and thrive in the Legreid - Vukelic clan.
Mollie and Grandma Irene chatting
The next morning, several couples shared stories about how they met. Over the weekend, we also learned the sordid history of "Leadfoot Lyndon." Ask him about it.
