It's a done deal!  Reed and Mollie are officially engaged.  There was plenty of legwork and collaboration behind the scenes to get the engagement ring to Reed.  He and his mother exchanged several emails and phone calls while Reed was in Afghanistan sorting out the details of the design and purchase.  The women working at Schumacher's Jewelry in Bismarck were genuinely excited about working on the project.  Everything came together as planned and the ring was sent to Reed as soon as he got stateside.

Reed and Mollie's first date was at a restaurant called "Mollie Malone's" and Reed wanted to propose to Mollie there.  They arrived at the restaurant and Reed surreptitiously spoke with some young women sitting at a table nearby, told them his intentions, and asked them to snap a few photos with his camera.

Reed, on bended knees, makes the proposal.  Someone at another table asked, "What did she say?"  Reed replied, "She said 'Yes.'"  The place erupted in applause.

Champagne was brought to the table, courtesy of the management.  Someone else bought their meals.  Several patrons wanted photos of the couple for their own memories of the event.  "It was perfect," they both agreed when they called us a while later.  Mollie posted a change of status on her Facebook page and within 15 minutes had six congratulatory messages.  The speedy social network was working at it's finest.

Reed and Mollie on the day he returned to Fort Knox from Afghanistan.  There will be a reception in Bismarck on August 14.  Mark your calendars.
