A great Mother's Day is one spent with family.  At least that's what my spouse tells me.  And the 2006 Mother's Day weekend started out right when Reed arrived from Iraq.

His trip home involved stops in Kuwait, Ireland, and Dallas, Texas.  At the airport in Dallas, dozens of kids and adults cheered the troops as they walked through the terminal.  This is part of an on-going effort by the Airport Ambassadors in Dallas who enlist volunteers to greet soldiers every day. Reed really appreciated the welcome and made it home in less than three days.

My Mom came over for brunch served up by the men of the household.

Meredith came home later that day and spent the week at home before heading east to Madison, Wisconsin for the summer.  Pam opens some gifts.

One of them was a hat to protect you from the sun and rain.  I may have to appropriate it for my golf bag.

Another gift were these spiffy garden clogs.  She is an easy woman to please.  The best gift, of course, was having both kids home at the same time.
