It's Mardi Gras time. Three couples helped us celebrate the
on-coming Lenten season. The first order of business was for couples to make
masks for the men. Since the male of the species is usually the more colorful,
we expected masks to match. We were not disappointed.

After a tasty marinated shrimp appetizer, we wolfed down clementine-olive-and-endive salad, jambalaya, cajun bread, maque choux, and a pumpkin-pecan dessert. Yikes!

Betty gave a brief history of King Cake. Inside the cake was a tiny plastic baby. Whomever got that piece of cake was designated the host for next year's Mardi Gras extravaganza.
And the winner is -- Elton John, I mean Scott.
