The Honor Guard is front and center with Harold's '57 Ford coming up in the background

Harold and the Grand Marshall in one spiffy car hauled to Maddock on a trailer from the lake cabin in Minnesota

While Harold's car passed the reviewing stand on Main Street, the announcer, Dave Swanson, said:

"Our Grand Marshall today is Firemann Legreid.  Firemann was born and raised in the Maddock community.  He grew up on a farm and later became owner-operator of Legreid Dairy.  In the late 40s, Firemann started another business, Legreid Plumbing and Heating which he operated until retiring.  He and wife Mary Lois, who taught school in Maddock for many years, raised three children.  They were active members of the community and among community leaders who were instrumental in making Maddock the progressive community it has always been.  Firemann and Mary Lois moved to Bismarck a number of years ago.  Mary Lois passed away and Firemann continues to spend his retirement years in Bismarck, but his heart is still in Maddock."

Maddock is predominantly Norwegian and Lutheran.  This float was no surprise.
