October was one of the nicest months of the year in 2010.  I especially enjoyed the many days when it was sunny, fairly warm, and the wind was virtually non-existent.  This not only makes me less cranky, but helps my golf game, too.  There are miles and miles of walking trails in the Bis-Man area.  We took advantage of one of them recently.

One evening in October, Pam told me to come outside, quick, because the sunset was fabulous.  We hopped in the car and drove as fast as I thought I could get by with to the banks of the Missouri on the BSC campus.  I know from experience that the great colors last only a few minutes.  I managed to get one shot [out of several taken] that I liked.

Last Saturday, I was en route to breakfast with the Hoeraufs and Dennis Steele at the Ridge restaurant in Mandan.  As soon as I backed out of the driveway, the sunrise was awesome so I made a mad dash for the nearest landmark to use in the foreground.  That happened to be Cathedral church a few blocks east of our home.  Someone more skilled than me could photoshop those power lines out of the photo.  The colors are not enhanced.

This is Veteran's Day 2010.  Remember our vets!
