Reed has been in Germany since January.  He's had more surgery on his foot and is in a cast again.  In a freak accident last year, a loading ramp spun out while men were loading a piece of heavy equipment on a flatbed trailer.  The ramp flew through the air and landed on Reed, an innocent onlooker.

The heavy ramp crushed his right foot, moving several of his toes one joint to the right of their former location.

Reed is shown at Fort Bragg wearing the mandatory BCGs [birth control glasses] evidently designed to keep Army males from appearing too attractive to the opposite sex.

A recent purchase has given Reed some freedom.  He's visited Gustavo, stationed nearby, several times.

One of his recent excursions was to the concentration camp at Dachau.

Back at the barracks in Bamburg, Reed has several amenities to help pass the time.

And one wouldn't want to leave Germany without tasting the local culture.
