Another month in Iraq has gone by. We hope it has been a quick one for Reed. Below, Reed stands in his newly-constructed "hooch."
Reed ordered and has received a set of Dewalt power tools. He says he's completed several projects and is in demand. His grandfather, Firemann, can take some credit for honing those carpentry skills as they worked on several projects together over the years.

Outside the hooches, you can see the air conditioners that are unnecessary now during the "rainy" season.
Someone, looking over this wide expanse of wasteland, has a sense of humor.
Reed, in full "battle rattle." He said to take note of all the leg room you have in these Hummers. Some of their convoys are 9 hours one-way.
This is the view from the turret where Reed typically sits during a convoy mission.

Reed and fellow squad members show off the pillow cases Pam made them. Operation Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep has really taken off.
Reed has received letters and packages from friends and family for which he is most grateful. Some of those letters came from young students and are worth a look.
