Operation Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep continues to gain momentum, thanks in part to coverage on two local television stations. This week, the KX network carried a story featuring a Lady Lions group [our friend Betty Steele organized the event] sewing pillow cases at Bismarck High School in the evening.
Above, the Student Council for Grimsrud Elementary School in Bismarck poses with Pam. The Council, advised by Deb Steffeck, donated $100 toward the cost of postage and fabric for the project.
The pillow cases, or at least some of them, filled our dining room table. Pam says she has more than 600 now and expects another 200 from people who have contacted her and are working on them. These will be go in the mail very soon.
These are some, but not all, of the food items donated by the YMCA pre-school kids. The packages are en route to Iraq.
