July was a great month for catching up with old buds and family. Jason Harlan flew up from Albuquerque to participate, for the second consecutive year, in the Halvorson Open.
Jason poses with his brother Earl in Alexandria, Minnesota.
The tourney participants pose in front of the clubhouse at Geneva Golf Club. The 27-hole layout was in wonderful shape. The weather was inhospitable as we battled 40 mph winds on Friday and Saturday. They subsided to 25 mph on Sunday.
The owner of the club chatted with us. Well, that is when Wes would let him get in a word edgewise.
Jason gets an award for traveling the farthest to participate in the tourney.
Here I'm getting congratulations from tourney host Scott for being on the first-place scramble team.
A fraternity brother, Mark "Chicago" Laughlin drove up from his home in Cheyenne, Wyoming for a weekend. I gave him a tour of Cannonball, North Dakota, an experience he will probably not soon forget.
We donated a few dollars to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe at Prairie Knights Casino. This sculpture is on the west side of the casino.
In late July, the Legreids and in-laws gathered in Fargo. Brent's son, Casen, explains something to his great grandpa, Firemann.
Myrt Wick, daughter Judy Dodge, and Janet Olson look at some photos.
Firemann and his kids, Harold, Pam, and Brad pose in front of a fireplace. Note the bricks in the background. I think the brick masons got into the sauce when they built the wall.
The Van Bruggens, Karen, Craig, Howard, and Hope visited us en route to their home in Renton, WA.
On August 9, Dave Helvig's daughter, Mary married. At the reception, a few of the barbershoppers in attendance sang her a couple of songs. Flanking me are Brad Heinzer and Kerry Carpenter.
