We wanted Mollie to get a real flavor for winter in North Dakota. As it turned out, we got more than we bargained for. Let me explain. Reed and Mollie were scheduled to arrive in Bismarck on United Airlines on December 16 at 2:30 p.m. Due to flight delays and cancellations, they flew in on Delta and arrived in Minot around midnight. Pam and I picked up the exhausted duo and drove home. They kept busy around the house preparing for the holidays.
On December 23, a group of us went caroling.

Dave Helvig, bass singer extraordinaire with the Good Fortune Quartet, his wife Esther, and daughter Mary, joined Kerry Carpenter, Dave Nelson, and our family for the singing. It was chilly but tolerable outside that night.
Singing for some friends down the street

The Christianson's gave us warm applause.
Afterwards, the quartet sang a couple of Christmas songs in our kitchen.
The next day was Christmas Eve and we invited Mom over for supper [I still am in the habit of calling the evening meal supper and the noon meal dinner].
Reed shows Mom some photos on his laptop.
The next morning, the "kids' clutch their stockings, made by my significant other, which contained some goodies.
