Pam wants to move a bookcase from Reed's room to our family room because the books are piling up everywhere and need some organization.  As I was looking at some of the items stored in the bookcase upstairs, I came across two old albums of photos taken 30 years ago.  Looking through them was a hoot.  Here are a few shots from yesteryear.

Our nephew, Brent Legreid, visited us for a few days.  Pam made this Spiderman birthday cake for him.

I took Brent to the Hettinger County courthouse where the jail is located on the top floor, next to the sheriff's living quarters at that time.  Brent stares at the walls where convicted murderer Reggie Trieb spent a few days.  Hope Brent was not traumatized by the visit.

In 1980 Pam turned 29.

John and Pam Suchor were married that summer and we attended the wedding.

My sister Franci tied the knot that year, too.  Bill, me and Dad wore the frilly tux shirts in vogue at the time.

We took a three-week vacation on Eastern Airlines.  We could fly anywhere in North America that Eastern serviced.  We started with New Orleans, then went on to Washington, D.C. where we hooked up with Jason Harlan.  We are standing on a short obelisk that was formerly situated just a few yards north of the Washington Monument.  We also visited Mexico City, Port au Prince, Los Angeles, and Portland on that vacation.  All flights involved a stop at Eastern's hub, Atlanta, Georgia.  So to fly from L.A. to Portland, which we did, we had to go through Atlanta.  Good strategy for the oil companies; not so good for Eastern.  No wonder they went belly up.

This was taken while we were in Port au Prince, Haiti.  Pam was pregnant with Reed at the time.
